With all the badass-ness going on this week, I was inspired to do my version of a soldier look.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend the Women’s March because I forgot to request off of work but I was there in spirit ladies!!

Olive green has been a favorite color of mine since my younger days.  For some reason every time I put it on, I think of Peter Pan.  I wear it so much because although it’s not gray, black or white, it’s still neutral like tan.  Similarly to wearing army jackets, the color pairs really well with denim and other neutrals.

95% of the time I wear jeans and when I saw these RVCA pants from Nordstrom, I thought they’d be a great way to switch it up.  Some guys like wearing Chino’s while others like wearing denim and I am definitely on the denim spectrum.

I always thought RVCA was just a surf/skateboard brand but after I bought these pants I did some research.  I found out that the brand is also about art, fashion and music.  All of which I’m about!

What I love about these are how they already seem tailored.  I always roll up my pants to show off my shoes but with these I don’t have to.  I can put them on without thinking about it.  Also, they are going to transition seamlessly into spring and summer! 🙂

I don’t look like a guy with a Harley Davidson parked in my garage so finding the right leather jacket was pretty hard.  If you’re new to the leather jacket scene, I suggest starting out with gray or brown and pair it with lighter pieces that don’t scream BIKER!

You don’t want to look like you’re trying too hard or being something you’re not.

I finished off the look with one of my favorite turtlenecks from All Saints.  Since it is more fitted, I usually pair it with a sport coat or leather jacket.  Something about skinny guys in fitted turtlenecks with no jacket makes me uncomfortable…

I do a lot of looks with turtlenecks but if those aren’t your jam, then you could easily switch it out with a sweater or button down.  I would rather do a sweater over a button down any day but to each their own.  That is why it’s called personal style.  😉
